  1. Constantly Learning

We learned from the medicines of the past We learned from the structure of the past We learned that we had unity, we had spirituality, we had goodness We learned that we thought good, we spoke good, we are good We learned that every tribe had a purpose and skill We learned that we worked together We learned that our culture is vibrant and our roots are rich We learned that our elders wanted us to learn for ourselves, to be able to stand on our own two feet and be proud We learned from the medicines of the past

  1. We learn from our past to make our future

We learned from those before us We are learning that the troubles of our past will not be the future or determine our future abilities We learned to listen more, acknowledge and learn We learned we are leaders in expressing our history across the country, we learn that we can share this with others We are learning we are able to build, adapt and use new technologies to preserve indigenous culture We are learning we all have our skills and traditions, and they are interconnected We are learning to continue in the rankings to learn from our grandparents (our elders) We are learning we all have a little indigenous-unity in us We are learning that the troubles of our past will not be the future or determine our future abilities We learned from those before us

  1. We are all unique

We all must be respected We all have something to provide to our greater community We must always remember knowledge is power and bliss We learn from our bundles, we learn from the start that we must spread the culture to our youth to allow them to grow and foster the values of humanity We see our children are learning the importance of ceremony and prioritizing it We know we are all people from the source of life We have the fruits of the land to heal us We are on this path to share indigi-trails and history We all must be respected

  1. The importance of language

We learned we have a powerful language We learned that we must embrace and speak our language We learned that sometimes the language of silence is most beneficial We learned in language we must, speak, listen and observe We learned of new languages and the power evoked in it: Siksikáí’powahsin I am learning that our teachers are nikâwiy We learned we have a powerful language
